1. In January 2014 a "Research Centre for Latina American criminal law and criminal procedure" ("Centro de Estudios de Derecho Penal y Procesal Penal Latinoamericano" / CEDPAL) was inaugurated at Göttingen under the auspices of Ambos' professorship.

Im Januar 2014 wurde am Lehrstuhl von Ambos eine „Forschungsstelle für lateinamerikanisches Straf- und Strafprozessrecht“ (spanische Abkürzung CEDPAL) eingerichtet.

2. In 2003, he was named to a foundation professorship (level C4) for research on the effects of allergies and in the same year he became head of the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) at the Clinic for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the Charité.

2003 erhielt er den Ruf auf eine Stiftungsprofessur (C4) für Allergie-Folgenforschung und wurde im selben Jahr Leiter der Europäischen Stiftung für Allergieforschung ECARF an der Klinik für Dermatologie, Venerologie und Allergologie, Charité in Berlin.
